Our Story

Clars Wines and Clars Auction Gallery has hosted Bay Area auctions of Fine Art, Decorative Objects, Asian works of art, Jewelry and Wine for over fifty years and has built a strong reputation for knowledge and experience in handling quality fine art, antiques, jewelry, and decorative objects.

Since 1972, the gallery has worked with buyers and sellers throughout the world. In mid-2004, the gallery began offering simultaneous internet bidding. Clars now builds on its legacy to offer some of the rarest wines to avid and discerning collectors around the globe via live auctions and private sales. We have decades of experience sourcing the greatest producers and vintages for our clients!

Clars conducts monthly two-day auctions of roughly 2000 lots at its North Oakland location. The auctions and previews are attended by 2000–4000 people, and the online catalog is viewed by 50,000–100,000 dealers and collectors worldwide. In the last ten years, Clars Auction Gallery, Inc. has sold over $150,000,000 of Fine Art, Jewelry, Vehicles, Collectibles, Furniture, and Asian Works of Art.

The Fine & Rare Wines department at Clars intends to make consigning your wine at auction an easy, streamlined and uniquely personal experience. We focus on top quality wines from France (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Rhone Valley), Italy (Piedmont, Tuscany, Veneto), Spain (Rioja, Ribera del Duero), USA (California, Oregon, Washington), Germany and other famed wineries and regions. Our expert staff can determine the current market value of your property for upcoming live auction or with direct private sales to our vast network of top collectors.

Andrew Bradbury

Director of Wine and Spirits

Andrew Bradbury is the director of the Fine Wine and Spirits division at Clars. With over 25 years in the Fine Wine trade, Andrew has evaluated, purchased and sold some of the rarest bottles on the globe including rare gems like 19th Century Bordeaux from top collectors and famed collections. Select accolades include the Grand Award from Wine Spectator for having one of the best wine programs in the world, James Beard “Outstanding Wine Program”, the National Restaurant Association’s “Most Innovative” as well as induction into the Las Vegas’ “Epicurean Hall of Fame”. Andrew pioneered and invented the electronic wireless wine list at Aureole in Las Vegas and was awarded the global “Digital Maverick” award from Hewlett Packard for his innovations. Mr Bradbury has appeared on numerous television programs on wine including MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, Travel Channel, Food Network and in leading food and wine publications throughout his career.
